Update from our President & 2021 Board of Directors Nominations now OPEN!

Dear Tampa Bay NACE colleagues and friends:

With the unofficial end of Summer, and our schedules and focus turns towards the remainder of the year. As your President I want to take this opportunity to update you on the NACE Tampa Bay Chapter.

And also our  plans moving forward to address the many issues we are all facing in today’s unparalleled environment.

First I want to say Thank you. Thank you … for your extraordinary patience, courage and commitment. The pandemic and the unrelenting news cycle have taxed our chapters resources, our families and our nerves.

Nearly all of us, have had to balance personal and family issues, challenges of children and parental care and of course isolation and lack of in-person contact with our extended NACE family, friends and colleagues.

And while nothing would make me happier than to provide all of you with and end date to all of this, it is clear there is no end in sight.

We will continue to take a conservative approach focused on keeping our NACE family safe. For now the best we can do is continue to communicate and encourage each other, support each other and find ways to celebrate the good days and build on the momentum these all provide.

I am happy to report the Tampa Chapter has weathered this environment and remains financially secure in our 30th year. We will continue on being so…for years to come.

NACE national and the foundation of NACE have provided incentives for your membership renewals. If you have expired and are within the 120 days and have been furloughed or in these difficult times your company will not be renewing your membership or simply would like to know your options.

I invite you to call …Sylvia Buell at National Association of Catering Executives  Operations Assistant 1-667-401-6137.

As we wind down the year we all would like to forget we will be looking towards 2021 and with that it brings with elections for the Tampa Bay NACE Board of Directors. I will be filling the position of immediate Past President, Samantha Valentin will become be acting as our board accountant. Emily Heil our President Elect will become President in 2021.

I encourage anyone regardless,  if you have never been on the board or have not been a member for long..to get involved. Join our diverse, dynamic board. Below are the 2021 board positions and application to run in our election in November.  The deadline to apply is  September 30th 2020 .

This would open up opportunities to get involved in a creative hospitality, event organization and further your career ambitions or just make allot of great new lifetime friendships.

All board applications can be sent to immediate Past President Samantha at [email protected]

There is a great deal of work ahead and the challenges presented by a pandemic do not make it easier rebuilding our Hospitality Industry. But we cannot be and will not be deterred.  Together, we find ourselves in an important time in history. A moment to make an everlasting and necessary change . Your voice and contributions to the Tampa Bay Chapter of the  National Association of Catering Events are being heard and are making a difference. I welcome and encourage you to hold on for tomorrow will be better and I encourage you to keep providing your idea’s and feedback. I am proud of our NACE CommUNITY .

With gratitude,

A.J. Dadetto

We're Here For You!

When the first impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic hit the catering and events industry, NACE moved quickly to support members. The National Board has enacted several resources and measures to maintain our strong, vibrant community. We have expanded the membership grace period to 120 days, introduced flexible installment plans, expanded online education, and more.

COVID-19 and the physical distancing required have demonstrated the importance of belonging to a community. In partnership with the Foundation of NACE, the National Board is pleased to introduce a membership support program that allows members experiencing financial hardship to stay connected to the NACE community and all the resources and support NACE offers. NACE is your community and we are stronger together.

Who Can Enroll

Members in a qualifying category with a renewal date of February 2020 or beyond who are experiencing financial hardship are eligible to enroll. Those who enroll in this program are also eligible for payment plans. If you have already renewed, you can still take advantage of this program and add an additional 12 months to your membership.

Thanks to the Foundation of NACE, this program will also provide financial support to our chapters by ensuring the dues rebate program stays intact. This generous investment by the Foundation will help provide support to our vibrant chapter network.

How to Enroll

If you would like to enroll in the membership support program, please contact the national office at [email protected], via chat at nace.net or by phone at 410-290-5410.
